PandaDoc’s all-in-one document automation software and workflow capabilities to provide customers with a more professional and engaging experience. PandaDoc helps you simplify processes and increase efficiency across your entire organization when you integrate your existing CRM, payment, and file storage apps into a unified workflow.

Authenticating

PandaDoc uses API Key based auth, a developer-friendly delegated access protocol. Quolum has already connected the necessary wires with PandaDoc. Using a sequence of click-throughs, your organization's administrator allows Quolum to make API calls to PandaDoc without getting access to passwords.

Step 1: Initiate a connection to PandaDoc

Click the Connect button from the Connections card. If you are not an admin, you can invite your organization's PandaDoc admin to make a connection to your PandaDoc organization account. When you click on the Connect button, the web browser will navigate to the PandaDoc login page.

Step 2: Log in to PandaDoc

Log in to PandaDoc using your organization's credentials. The exact login mechanism may depend on your PandaDoc plan, and the sign-in mechanism used. You may have corporate SSO such as Azure AD, GSuite, or Okta along with multi-factor authentication. Once you have successfully logged in you can find the API Key as mentioned below in Step 3.

Step 3: Finding API Key in Pandadoc

  • Open your web browser and go to the PandaDoc website (https://www.pandadoc.com/).
  • Click on the "Login" button located at the top right corner of the page.
  • Enter your email address and password to log in to your PandaDoc account.
  • Once you are logged in, you will be taken to your PandaDoc dashboard.
  • Click on "Settings" on the left-hand bottom of the page as shown in the image below
  • Click on "Integrations" on the second left tab as shown in the image above
  • Then click on API on the right-hand side as shown in the image above. Alternatively, you can scroll to the end of the page
  • Then click on the API card. A Pop up will open as shown in the image below.
  • Please select the production API key from here and paste it into Quolum Portal as shown in Step 2. Note: If you do not have a Production API key, you need to request the PandaDoc team as shown in the image above.

After confirming, a new API key will be generated and displayed. Make sure to copy it or make a note of it.

Step 4: Back to Quolum

Once you have granted access to Quolum, PandaDoc is going to send you back to Quolum's page in Step 1, where you started. The Connect button on the Connections card would now say Reconnect. Reconnect is used to reauthenticate under circumstances where the access has expired.

Under the hood

Using the OAuth protocol, Quolum now has delegated access to your PandaDoc Workspace. The Quolum server, running on Amazon AWS VPC, will be able to make API calls and retrieve feature-level utilization. Later, this data is crunched and available for visualization on the Quolum dashboard.
